Saddle bag for rigid a motorcycle
Okay, its been quite a while since I've done anything with any of my blogs. I've been so busy working, riding my bobber and...well, working on my bobber. These things really require a lot of maintenance. I have not had the greatest luck with the Makuni carburator but that's a whole 'nother story.
My quest for a properly running bike lead me to wishing I had a saddle bag but as all rigid bobber owners know, that's not as simple of a wish as it sounds. There are a lot of cheap handlebar bags out there for tool storage but with a springer, I didn't like any of them. So, I was left with a frame mounted bag. I found them everywhere I looked. JP Cycles has a million Leather saddle bags but a bike decked out in leather is not really my thing. Also, they are expensive.
So, that leads me to today. I happened to be at our local K-Mart and in the sporting goods section when I happened by this Bicycle bag designed by Bell- the same company that makes helmets. For $10.00 I picked up a great bag that velcros to my bike frame. It's made of nylon so when it gets dirty, I can simply wash it. The velcro strips are well over 2" long so I have no worries about the bag being ripped off while I'm riding.
Just like leather bags, they can easily be removed by a would-be thief but hey, I'll only be out $10.00 plug a few wrenches and screwdrivers. I also think it looks pretty good on the bike too.
