The custom trade show exhibits guy called me again

The guy who wanted to build a custom hood for me so he could put it in one of his custom trade show exhibits called me again today asking if I had made a decision. It got me thinking a bit more about the hood and what I wanted to do with it.

I found out that the hood for the 06 Mustang is aluminum so adding the weight of a steel hood doesn’t seem like a smart idea so I told him that I was just going to go with a carbon fiber cowl hood from Curzin concepts because it has the most aggressive looks and will add a little extra to the overall look.

Besides I'm thinking about putting better DOT style lights in my hood and going with a set of Agent 47 headlight deletes for ram air. Although they are for race only, If I have two functional headlights who cares where they are at!

Selling my new Cobra Rims

I'm selling my SVT 03 Mustang Cobra Wheels 17x9 & 17x10.5, 17 inch rims. You can get them for a great price if you're interested in them and you can pick them up locally. They WONT fit a 2006 Mustang without a wide body kit... my stupidity is your gain!

Also, a bit of an update! I've ordered several things for the Stang. I'll have pictures on Tuesday!

Magnaflow MPE-16605

I’m really leaning towards the Magnaflow MPE-16605 cat back kit for the Mustang. After a lengthy talk with a tech at Summit I’ve decided to leave the cat forward system alone for now because what he said made sense to me. He said opening the headers will drop back pressure and defeat some of the horsepower gains that the super charger will give me. This made sense to me since the supercharger is designed to raise the boost.

So, I want something stainless and with resonators instead of actual mufflers. I want loud and I want grumble and the Magnaflow kit will certainly take care of the job for me. At $543.93 this should be one of the first enhancements that I complete on the car.

I was also advised that my Mustang is equipped with a high flow catalytic converter but I’m not sold on that one yet. I need to do some more research but I believe I might just change it to be sure.

Meet Dave!

Dave is the dude next door...errr, the dude next to next door actually. He's been working on his 750+ HP Chevy Nova for as long as I've known him. He's a great mechanic with excellent knowledge on obtaining horsepower and he's offered up his services and a bay in his garage to help me with all of the grand ideas I have for the Mustang. Although he isn't particularly a Ford fan he seems to really like the potential he sees in the Mustang.

I'll be conferring with him on all of the decisions I make when it comes to bolt on and weld on horse power gains as he has a proven winner in his garage right now! So, right now, Dave is the first piece to the puzzle for my Monster 4.0!

Photo: Dave taking a peak in the engine bay of his '70's Chevy Nova. It's pumping out about 750 HP as it sits. He took it from a piddly two barrel slow poke into a full-on dragster.
